Mike Cox: John James Is Out of Step with Trump–Vance America First Jobs Agenda After Shipping Michigan Jobs Overseas
“You don’t get to run on America First when you’re selling out to China.”
Livonia, MI - Vice President JD Vance was in Michigan today with a clear message: protect American workers and bring jobs back home, saying “If you're trying to undercut the wages of American workers and bring in cheap garbage from overseas, you're going to get a big fat tax increase because we're protecting our workers.”
Mike Cox, candidate for Governor, said that message exposes Congressman John James’ record.
“Vice President Vance, I think that’s a great idea. And it starts with people like John James.”
“John James brings auto parts made overseas in China and Mexico into Michigan. That’s not creating Michigan jobs, that’s BSing Michigan jobs.”
Renaissance Global Logistics, where James serves as CEO, has coordinated shipments of U.S.-made auto parts to assembly plants around the world, including facilities tied to Changan Ford, a joint venture with a Chinese state-owned automaker. That company operates under China South Industries Group, a Chinese defense conglomerate linked to the Chinese Communist Party and the People’s Liberation Army, according to The Daily Beast (July 30, 2020).
“Let’s not be fooled by Job Jumping John James. The jobs he’s creating—they’re over in China and Mexico. They’re not here in Michigan.”
Cox said that record puts James completely out of step with the Trump-Vance America First agenda.
“President Trump and Vice President Vance are fighting to bring jobs back and stand up to China. John James built a business sending those jobs overseas.”
“You don’t get to run on America First when your business depends on China. Michigan workers see right through that.”
