LIVONIA, MI- The Mike Cox for Governor campaign responded to a new John James attack ad that falsely claims Mike Cox “never endorsed President Trump.” The ad is a blatant lie designed to mislead Republican voters and distract from James’s own anti-Trump record and collapsing support in the primary. 

Mike Cox’s Record of Supporting President Trump

Contrary to the James campaign’s falsehoods, Mike Cox has consistently backed President Donald J. Trump and his America First agenda. 

• Mike Cox voted for President Trump all three times.

• Mike Cox donated thousands of dollars to President Trump’s campaign, as documented in public FEC reports, while John James donated $0 to President Trump.

• Mike Cox authored op-eds defending President Trump’s positions, including backing the President's emergency declaration at the southern border. 

• In 2024, President Trump and the RNC asked Mike Cox to serve as the Election Integrity lawyer for Michigan. Mike took on this role and fought for fair elections as the lead attorney. 

During President Trump’s time in office, Mike was a private citizen running his own business, not an elected official. There was no need to issue a formal endorsement. Mike’s votes, his wallet, his legal work, and public writing spoke louder than any press conference. 

James is Hiding His Own Anti-Trump Record

The truth is John James is in panic mode. He has fallen nearly 30 points in the primary, and instead of making the case for himself, he resorts to lying.
