Check Out My Interview with The Midwesterner!

HOLLAND MI- I recently sat down with Kyle Olson of The Midwesterner at Marlena’s Bistro in Holland to talk about the future of Michigan.

Marlena’s story reflects what makes our state special. She fled communism, came to America seeking freedom, and built a business here in Michigan. When the government tried to shut her down, she fought to keep her dream alive. That determination is something we need more of in our state today.

During our conversation, we talked about my time serving two terms as Michigan’s Attorney General and why I’m running for Governor in 2026.

My motivation is personal. My parents came to Michigan as immigrants because it was a place where a carpenter and a maid could build a life and give their children opportunity. Today, that Michigan Dream feels out of reach for too many families. Three of my own children have moved out of state for better opportunities, and that’s something we need to change.

Michigan is at a crossroads. Our schools are struggling, state government has grown too large, and too many families feel like Lansing isn’t working for them anymore.

I’ve never been afraid to fight for what’s right. As Attorney General, I took on government fraud, banned affirmative action, and took the fight to corporate interests like the utilities on behalf of working Michiganders.

Michigan can be a place of opportunity again. That’s why I’m running.
