As the John James Campaign Slips, James Finally Faces the Voters

LANSING, MI — As John James leaves his basement to face the voters today at the Citizens for Traditional Values Governor Candidate Forum in Lansing, Mike Cox reminds Michigan Republicans deserve better than another half-hearted campaign from John James.

“For months, John James has avoided debates, ignored Republican voters, and acted like he should be handed the nomination without answering tough questions. Michigan Republicans deserve better than a candidate who only shows up once his campaign is in decline.”

Polling this week shows James’ lead over Mike Cox continuing to shrink as Cox is the candidate with momentum in the Governor’s race.

Cox contrasted James’ debate absences with his own record of campaigning aggressively across Michigan touting his record of winning big races for Michigan races for Republicans and getting big things done for seniors and taxpayers.

“I’ve traveled across the state for more than a year and answered tough questions from voters at more than 10 debates & forums and more than 500 total stops.
